The Junghans Meister Kalender 027/4906.01 is a very special watch. As you can see on the dial it's a calendar with a moonphase. At 10 o'clock you will find a window with the day, at 2 o'clock the month and inside the moonphase window there is a hand for the date. Both windows are in English. The moon indicator is a proper moonphase and not just a day/night indicator.
The movement powering all this is the Junghans Cal. J800.3, which is based on an ETA 2824 with a Dubois Depraz 9310 module. The plexiglass glass has a high dome and a durable sicralan coating. This coating helps protect the otherwise relatively vulnerable plexiglass against scratches. The watch has a beautiful high quality leather strap.
The Meister Kalender has a very clean simplicity, which, along with the 40.4mm diameter (without crown) gives it tremendous wrist presence.
It's a watch that will be noticed, not by being gaudy or flashy, but by being special. It's a superb choice for a classic gentleman, but also for someone who wants to blend casual with dressy influences.
